The Thai government will conduct a thorough investigation of building safety in Bangkok within two weeks, including high-rise buildings and hotels on the inspection list
The Mayor of Bangkok issued an official announcement on March 29, requiring the owners of the following nine types of buildings or facilities to inspect for damage caused by the recent earthquake and submit a report to the city government within two weeks, including:
1. High-rise buildings (over 23 meters tall)
2. Large buildings (with usable space exceeding 10,000 square meters)
3. Buildings accommodating a large number of people (with space of at least 1,000 square meters, capable of holding more than 500 people)
4. Theaters
5. Hotels with more than 80 rooms
6. Entertainment venues with space exceeding 200 square meters
7. Condominium or apartment buildings with usable space greater than 2,000 square meters
8. Factories that are multi-story and have usable space exceeding 5,000 square meters
9. Giant billboards with a height exceeding 15 meters or an advertising area greater than 50 square meters, as well as advertising facilities located on rooftops or bases with an area exceeding 25 square meters.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand announced on March 30 that this year's Water Festival (Songkran) celebrations will proceed as scheduled.
Don Mueang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok are operating normally, and airline flights are not affected. Additionally, the public transportation system—especially the rail systems operated by BTS and MRT—is also functioning normally. Hotels and entertainment venues in major tourist areas remain unaffected.
To ensure the safety of tourists, the Tourism Authority of Thailand will collaborate with the Association of Thailand Engineers and the Ministry of Public Works to inspect the structural safety of high-rise hotels.
